1. Acceptance of Terms

2. User Accounts and Data

   To provide a competitive experience and properly manage user accounts, our services explicitly require the following:

   • Authentication: Account creation and authentication are strictly limited to Google Accounts. No other login methods are permitted.
   • Initial Data Collection: Upon registration, we securely store your Google email address and your Google profile name.
   • Platform Profile Data: We subsequently store your custom chosen platform username, the date of your account creation, your active playing time, your earned badges, and your network of connections to other users.
   • Game Statistics: We record and permanently store comprehensive playing statistics, Elo values, and match history associated with your account to facilitate matchmaking and platform rankings.
   • Payment Information: For users with paid accounts, we store a specialized payment reference token linked to your billing status.

3. Data Privacy and Non-Sale of Information

   We do not sell your personal information. Gambit strictly upholds that your personal data, including email addresses, gameplay statistics, and personal identifiers, will never be sold, rented, or traded to third parties under any circumstances. Information is used exclusively for internal platform functionality, security, and service optimization.

4. Analytics and Infrastructure

   To maintain platform stability and improve user experience, we utilize Google Analytics via Google Tag, Cloudflare Workers, and corresponding internal server analytics. By utilizing our services, you explicitly consent to the collection of anonymized usage data and the routing of your web traffic through these third-party infrastructure providers, governed by their respective Privacy Policies.

5. Payment Processing

   All premium features and paid services are processed via Stripe and Stripe's network of external partners. By initiating a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and acknowledge that Gambit does not store or process raw financial data (e.g., credit card numbers), retaining only a secure payment reference token to administer your account's paid status.

6. User-Generated Content & Studio Creations

   The Gambit platform provides creative features, including "Studio" and "Studio Code," allowing users to design and deploy custom games, scripts, and content. By creating, saving, or publishing any custom content within these environments, you irrevocably waive and relinquish all copyrights, intellectual property rights, and ownership claims to that content. You grant Gambit a perpetual, exclusive, worldwide, and royalty-free right to utilize, modify, distribute, monetize, reproduce, and publicly display your custom creations in any manner we deem fit, without any restriction or compensation owed to you.

7. Use License & Conduct

   The Gambit platform is provided for personal entertainment. You agree not to:

   • Use bots, scripts, or external software to automate gameplay or manipulate Elo ratings.
   • Attempt to reverse-engineer the game engine, bypass Cloudflare security measures, or access site source code.
   • Harass other players through chosen usernames or available communication channels.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

   "AS-IS" BASIS: The gaming platform, custom Studio environments, and matchmaking services are provided "as-is" without any warranty. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, that Elo calculations will be error-free, or that user data and custom games will be permanently preserved.

9. Limitation of Liability

   Under no circumstances shall Old Lane 17 be liable for:

   • Loss of game progress, custom Studio content, or fluctuations in Elo ratings.
   • Termination or suspension of accounts due to suspected cheating or Terms of Service violations.
   • Issues arising from third-party authentication (Google Login) failures or third-party payment processing (Stripe) errors.

10. Intellectual Property

    The "Gambit" game software, platform code, and site design are the exclusive property of Old Lane 17. Users retain no rights to game statistics, Elo rankings, or virtual badges, which are provided solely as part of the service.

11. Governing Law

    These terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Modifications

    We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the site following updates constitutes absolute acceptance of the revised terms.
